About
Sweet Dreams is Samara's standout gelato shop, made by Philippe, a Swiss-trained gelato chef, and it shows in the creamy texture and inventive flavors, spaghetti ice cream, Dubai chocolate, cinnamon and an orange-eucalyptus sorbet people rave about. There's a genuine lineup of vegan options too, like passionfruit-mango. Tropical flavors taste fresh and high-quality; it's the kind of place you return to nightly.

Edit - had the spaghetti ice cream. It was amazing, along with every other flavor we’ve tried! Stop by here for sure, we will be back every night! Sadly they were sold out of spaghetti ice cream this time but the Dubai chocolate and cinnamon flavors were fantastic! We will be back.
As a gelato chef myself, I was genuinely disappointed by the ice cream at Sweet Dreams. Something clearly isn’t right: either the recipe is off, the machine isn’t performing properly, or the display/freezing conditions can’t cope with the heat. The gelato I was served was half-melted, overly soft, and lacked flavour. We were served by a young girl, and unfortunately the owner was not present. Otherwise, I would have gladly taken the time to speak with him directly. That’s a real shame, especially considering the potential and all the wonderful fruits you can find in this country.
My girlfriend wanted some vegan gelato and Samara. I would be surprised if we could find some. But we stumbled on this gem nearby our hotel. The chef, Philippe, is from Switzerland and trained in the art of gelato making. He had many different flavours of gelato that were vegan. This includes strawberry, passionfruit mango, fruit salad. She ordered two scoops of the passionfruit mango and I wasn’t going to have any, but my gosh, it was really good. I’m glad to hear that they opened up another store in Nosara because we’re heading there tomorrow and we’re gonna go visit his wife who runs the store. Thank you to the chef for making our evening. Wonderful, he’s a delight and the gelato was a 10 out of 10 thank you.
