Avis Rent a Car Santa Teresa

Super easy and convenient. We rented a car to get from San Jose and dropped off here. Mariana was very helpful and the whole process only took a few minutes. FYI, the $18/day liability insurance referenced by other reviewers is required by Costa rican law, not a scam. If you have insurance through a credit card, make sure you bring a letter from the card company to avoid higher insurance fees!

I rented a car for three weeks while mine was in the shop. They charged me 200$ because the floor mats had mud on them. From the very beginning Meriam the lady at the counter was trying to scam me with insurance requirements. This place is new to the area and it’s the middle of rainy season. They will do anything to make a buck.
