Banana Beach Hotel

This was a wonderful place to stay for our first visit to Costa Rica! Sophie, the manager, was more helpful for our trip than any hotel I have ever been to. Full stop. She helped us connect with fantastic tour companies, she was VERY responsive and gave us regular updates on our pick-up times, costs and local resources to make our stay even better. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. The bungalows were very clean and also cleaned daily. It is attached to a great restaurant and bar on the beach with regular events. However, I wouldn't call it a "Party Place." We enjoy quiet and don't like crowds. It was not an issue. The DJ nights end at 10 or 11pm. It is also located in the middle of Santa Teresa with walkable restaurants and shopping in both directions. It is also right on the beach. There are a few things that some people might dislike -- you can hear the road in your bungalow but it's Santa Teresa. It's not bad though. There's one road thru town. If you don't want to hear any cars, find a place in the jungle somewhere else. Also, we occasionally would experience a temporary interruption in water or power service. Not the fault of the hotel. It happens because it's Costa Rica. Pura Vida! This place is awesome.

Don't fall for their "pool party" sales 😂 They charged us $20 pp to access their pool party and it was awful. Yeah sure there was a DJ but there was also kids jumping around and even biting me in my shoulder?! Service was slow and there were very few customers. There was supposed to be a bikini fashion show but we were there for hours and didn't see a thing. You're best off sitting on one of the loungers looking at the ocean. This was a joke and wasted money 😂 Plus they dare charging $11 for a Red Bull and claim they don't have tap water 😂

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Banana Beach in Santa Teresa! The service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The location is ideal, right next to the beach and close to everything you need, yet still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable, well-maintained, and have everything you could want for a perfect vacation. It truly felt like paradise, and I can’t recommend this place enough. A truly unforgettable experience!
