About
Jungle-immersed bungalows two minutes from the beach, each with its own kitchen and a bathroom with hot water — rare for the area — plus an open-to-sky bathroom guests love, a comfy bed, and A/C. A coffee shop sits right next door, and hosts Alberto and Marguerite earn warm marks for quick, helpful communication. It's a rustic, close-to-nature stay rather than a polished one, and the road brings early traffic and crowing roosters, so pack earplugs.

Not my favorite place in Santa Teresa. The neighbors were loud and randomly shouting throughout the day. They also lit of explosives which sounded like pipe bombs. On two occasions massive bamboo trees fell onto the property. One even hit our bungalow. The lowest step on our bungalow was rotted out. The runner on the stairs needs to be completely replaced as it is currently being propped up by a rock. A raccoon raided our mini fridge and ate lots of our food from the fridge. Their paw prints were all over the counters and tables. The A/C does not cool the upstairs loft. The fan is very rickety and makes lots of noise. The inside and outside lights flicker as if you’re are in a horror movie. Garbage was only emptied once in five days and you only have two extremely tiny waste bins. Sorry guys, but the value isn’t there. You can find nicer accommodations in a better location for a better price. Maybe some people like the rustic feel of a cabana?
My stay at Buena onda was short but lovely. Check in was very easy and Lucia gave me a lot of great tips about the area. There is a coffee shop right next to the property which was just perfect. The concept is fantastic and you really get to appreciate the jungle life. The bungalow itself has everything you need. Your own kitchen, bathroom with hot water (which is rare in the area) and a comfy bed with AC. I will be coming back in my next visit to Santa Teresa. Highly recommend to anyone looking to experience the really deal.
I stayed for 1 week in Buena Onda. The staff is very nice , kind and helpful . The place is beautiful , wild but comfy . The contact with nature and the open to Sky bathroom is something you cannot miss it. It is a whole experience . Close by there are restaurants, cafe and the beach. It is highly recommended!
