A guesthouse that feels like staying with a group of good friends — hosts Chelsea and Lenin, a couple, create such a homey, family vibe that guests routinely book a few nights and stay eight, or return trip after trip. It's a five-minute walk to the beach, well organized with personal grocery boxes, filtered water, and laundry, and it's not a party hostel, so you actually sleep. Lenin's surf lessons are a highlight — expect a lot of 'tranquilo.'

Had an amazing time at Cafecito! A few friends of mine recommend Santa Teresa as a great place to extend a work retreat I had elsewhere in CR, and booked this place with minimal research off Google. It turned out to be a amazing luck! Chelsea and Lenin do a great job in creating an awesome "homey" vibe that's relaxed and friendly. As someone who had never solo travelled before I felt welcomed and at ease very quickly. The surf lessons were also an awesome time, will forever have Lenin saying "tranquilo" in the back of my head when I go surfing. Having AC and warm water was a huge plus as well. Would 1000% come back here, highly recommend!
Cafecito is a hostel that makes you feels like family. I met many people here who came back to stay here again. The location is great - roughly in the town center and 5 min walk from the beach. I stayed in the private room, they AC was nice, and I had great sleep there. The place is well organized: personal boxes for groceries and food, well-equiped kitchen, filtered water, laundry available onsite. Chelsea and Lenin are wonderful hosts, they help with tips, organize BBQ and margarita nights, and are very responsive on WhatsApp. Last, but not least, the place has everything I needed: bike rental, board rental, and excellent surf lessons with Lenin, all at very competitive pricing. Will definitely stay again!
The hosts of the property, Chelsea and Lenin, are a beautiful and fun couple who have created a great place in the heart of Santa Teresa. These guys organise fun activities, excursions and daily surf trips for anyone who is interested, of which they both often take part in. Cafecito is a very sociable and friendly environment which makes you feel like your just at home! The property itself is very clean, well-organised and very comfortable. I initially booked 4-nights at this guesthouse and extended it to 8 nights in total, they have numerous people who come here initially and end up up extending their stay. Many others I met had also returned to Cafecito from previous trips to Costa Rica, this is all because people love the property and the environment which has been created. This place is also perfect if your a keen surfer and want to improve your skills, with Lenin being a highly skilled surf Instructor. I highly recommend Cafecito to anyone who is interested, it is a 10/10 review for me. Thank you Chelsea and Lenin!
