ESO Santa Teresa

Had such an amazing experience at Eso! The rooms were very comfortable and clean, it’s very social yet has a lot of options to chill. There are yoga classes and social activities organized by the hostel, as well as a beautiful coworking space. Loved my stay here and thank you so much Lior for creating such an amazing space in Santa Teresa

A completely honest review: Eso is an uncomfortable stay for anyone not completely absorbed in partying and vapid self-indulgence. Fellow travelers are not friendly, the staff--for the most part--stare at you with blank faces and don't seem to understand basic questions. The first room we stayed in had a broken AC unit and was adjacent to a very loud, very messy kitchen space. I would absolutely never stay there again. I will say two positive things. It is a very nice location, walking distance to the beach. And Avital, the current manager, is a kind, intelligent, and helpful young woman. She actually improved our stay a great deal. So I hope the best for her. As far as Eso itself, I see the place crumbling under it's own ignorance and spoiled behavior within 2 years.

I have never seen such a disgusting kitchen. It was a disaster. There were ants and bugs everywhere. There isn't enough room in the refrigerator, so people move your food around and crush it at the back of the refrigerator. An extra refrigerator is absolutely necessary. The pans and pots are in terrible condition. The same goes for the sponges. People don't clean their dishes, so it's impossible to cook. It's a real shame because the volunteers are super nice. The pool is really nice. There are lots of free activities that are fun. Thank you Cher for the yoga and meditation. But I won't be able to come back because of this kitchen. I don't understand how you can leave a kitchen in this state for your guests. Put up cameras to encourage backpackers to be more respectful because this is an absolute disgrace. When I go to a hostel, I want to feel comfortable, but it's so dirty that I couldn't even cook myself a meal. It sucks.
