About
The view is the whole point here: a clifftop infinity pool above Mal País that reviewers call stunning, best of all at sunset, with a swim-up bar right beside it. Many come on the $30 day pass (part of it credited toward food and drinks) and stay for hours. Rooms are simple and spacious with AC, though they vary, and the food is decent rather than a destination. Come for the pool and the sunset.

Great location with a nice view. Pool is amazing, perfect temperature. The Costa Rican lady doing the service was working like crazy to make everybody feel good. Kudos. We had a less pleasant encounter with the older person (I think the owner, long hair and beard). We ordered food with him. Then after 35 minutes we asked him how long he thought the food would take because we still had to drive in the dark. There was no bad intention behind this question, we just wanted to know if it would take longer or if it would be ready soon. He started lecturing me about the fact that there are 20 orders before us and that they can’t do our order before the others (which obviously we didn’t expect them to). His whole attitude felt quite patronizing. I kept explaining that this is by no means not a complaint and I’m happy to wait longer but he instead asked where I’m from and that in this country it’s “Pura Vida” and it doesn’t work the way I’m used to. For us this gave a bad taste to the whole day and didn’t really feel welcomed at all.
A place that enjoys a stunning view, especially magical at sunset. The infinity pool is clearly one of the highlights ,you could easily spend hours there. The rooms are simple, very spacious, and air-conditioned. Some are better equipped than others, so depending on which one you get, the experience may vary slightly. Wi-Fi access is available in the restaurant/bar area and works very well. The owner is welcoming and friendly, which adds a warm, personal touch to the stay. His sons run a surf shop in town, and you can also take surf lessons with them. A bar located right next to the pool offers a wide selection of drinks and cocktails , perfect for enjoying the setting without having to move. Breakfast is generous and served from 7:30 am to 10:00 am: fresh fruit, unlimited coffee and fruit juice, toast, butter, jam, as well as omelets or scrambled eggs and rice according to your preference. You can also have lunch and dinner on site. The dishes are perfectly decent. If you are looking for more variety, the town center offers a wider and more diverse selection. That said, having lunch or dinner on site is a great way to support the owner’s business. In short, you can go with confidence you’ll have a great time.
Spent the day here. Best view from a beautiful pool. Food was decent. Staff were all lovely and really attentive. The view and amenities cannot be beaten! Day pass was $30 but can be put toward food/ drinks. We spent 10 hours here so was easily done. Highly recommend!
