Makanas is a cluster of fully equipped bungalows steps from a long sandy beach on the quieter end of Santa Teresa, toward Playa Hermosa — close enough that you hear the waves from bed. Kitchens, hot showers, and a small on-site restaurant round it out, and owner Tyler stays reachable on WhatsApp. Bring a 4x4; dining nearby is limited, so plan a Nami reservation.

A wonderful place to stay. Amazing, fully equipped little houses with amazing hot showers, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and pillows. Surrounded b the jungle and just steps away from the beautiful long sandy / rocky beach. The staff was so lovely and always helpful with all questions and the owner always available on WhatsApp. I will come back and loved staying here. Thank you for your hospitality!

Just flat out amazing. The beach front, the bungalow, the service, Tyler(the owner, very cool guy), the little restaurant, very nice young man that works there with his fathe, the chef. Great space location people service. Probably the best place to stay in ST for a couple or an individual.

Nice rooms, well maintained and well located if you prefer to be a bit outside the busy center and on the way towards Playa Hermosa. You will need a car or ATV though as there are not many dining options close by except Rocamar. Flor Blanca recently closed. If you are sensitive to road noise, go for one of the bungalows that are lower from the street and closer to the beach. We were in the loft at street level and it was too loud for us (from traffic, in particular at night).
