Pachamama, Mal País is one of those places that immediately puts you in the right state of mind. Surrounded by jungle, close to the ocean, relaxed but full of soul — pure Costa Rica energy. What truly makes the difference are the girls who run the place. Their warmth, care, and effortless way of making you feel welcome create a rare sense of ease and belonging. You’re not just a guest — you’re part of the rhythm of the place. Simple, authentic, and beautifully balanced. Pachamama is not just somewhere you stay, it’s something you feel.
The full Costa Rica experience. I mean you can stay in a Cookie cutter hotel/air bnb anywhere. This place is authentic. I’m literally having meals with resident iguana at the table,,Outdoor kitchen great for meeting people and interacting. The bungalows are fully equipped with stove and fridges as well as coffee machines and hammocks. The private rooms are great for a couple. Stayed in one and it was awesome literally waking up in the jungle. Fruit trees, monkeys, floral that just embodies Costa Rica. This is the true experience. If you love the outdoors and want to get away from the crowds and the noise. Stay here.
Beautiful place. Nice people. We stayed at Pachamama for four weeks during our time in Costa Rica and we loved it! Pachamama was such a nice place. Super relaxed. We really loved the feeling to be in the jungle and so close to the most beautiful beach with tide pools. The staff is amazing and so welcoming. I really recommend to spend some days here, especially if you want a more relaxed time in beautiful Mal Pais!
