About
An authentic Costa Rican soda that's many travelers' first taste of Tico food — and a return-again favorite. The ceviche made with fresh local fish gets named over and over, alongside the pescado casado, crispy patacones, and fried snapper, all in portions you won't finish. The natural juices and smoothies (around 1,500 colones) are a highlight, as is the chocolate frío, and prices are about the best value in town. Casual, friendly, good for people-watching.

This was my first meal in Costa Rica and my first time trying a traditional Costa Rican dish — I’m so glad my first experience was at this soda. The staff were friendly, the prices were affordable, and it’s a casual spot where you can enjoy people-watching while you eat. The meal was hearty with very generous portions.
As you can probably tell, I’ve been here a lot. Ironically, it’s the chocolate frío which I recommend the most, although the nachos with vegetables are also fab. Warning, you won’t be able to finish the plate.
This was our first proper time trying Costa Rican food and it did not disappoint, the ceviche was incredible and we loved the place so much we ended up going back there a number of times during our trip to Santa Marta, the pescado Casado is also a must try !!
