Somos

We had the best stay at House of Somos! We stayed in the 6-bed dorm and it was super comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed with plenty of space for everyone. The whole place has such a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff were amazing and made everything so easy. Perfect spot whether you’re traveling solo or with friends!

We had an amazing stay at House of Somos in Santa Teresa! The room was spacious, clean, and super comfortable, and the shared kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish they even helped me book an ATV right from the property, which made exploring the area easy and fun. The beach is just a quick 3-minute walk away, and the town is full of great people, good vibes, and awesome food. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Santa Teresa!

The rooms are nice and clearly designed to lure travelers in, but the service and overall clientele were horrific. Both staff and guests were incredibly entitled, and the line between them was blurred as staff openly gossiped with guests about other guests. Unfriendly, cliquey, and genuinely bizarre atmosphere that wasn’t aligned with the rest of ST. There were no kitchen supplies available intentionally in the sleeping quarters to add pressure to spend money at their overpriced, Californianized restaurant. I asked for a coffee mug and was laughed at and asked why I didn’t want the cafe coffee…This place is clearly a cash grab aimed at snobby tourists rather than a genuine hostel vibe. The restaurant staff, especially the girls working there, delivered the worst customer service I experienced during my weeks in Costa Rica. I watched them deliberately delay my order while serving their friends first. Luckily, there were a few other solo travelers there that also felt uncomfortable. We all regretted not researching the culture of this place beforehand. I was initially excited to stay because it is a nice place, but other travelers warned me about its cult reputation and high school cafeteria feel. Unfortunately, they were right. Bad vibes all around. Beware.
