About
This is Santa Teresa's one-stop grocery run, where shoppers stock a week's worth in a single visit — a dedicated vegan fridge, a big frozen section, fresh produce, baked goods, and a solid alcohol shelf with some higher-end spirits. Staff are friendly and the place is clean and well-lit. Come knowing produce prices run high, so it pays to check the per-kilo before the scale.

Costa Supermarket is a reliable and budget-friendly grocery store in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica that I shop at close to once a week. It’s a great place to get everything you need while staying on budget, and it truly works as a one-stop shop. One thing I really appreciate is the variety of vegan options available. There’s a dedicated fridge with vegan products, along with other vegan-friendly items sprinkled throughout the store, which makes shopping easy and accessible. They also have a wide selection of nuts and juices, plenty of bottled water, and a strong alcohol selection, which is convenient whether you’re stocking up for the week or hosting friends. Beyond food, Costa Supermarket carries a solid range of household and personal items. You’ll find fresh baked goods, cleaning products, garbage bags, toiletries, and grooming tools, along with some unexpected but useful extras like smoking paraphernalia, playing cards, and other everyday essentials. There’s also a large frozen section, lots of fresh produce, and even items like pool noodles and a variety of kids’ games and toys, which is especially helpful for families or longer stays. Parking is straightforward, with a small parking lot out front and nearby street parking available if the lot is full. The staff are friendly and helpful, which adds to how easy and pleasant the overall shopping experience feels. Overall, Costa Supermarket makes it simple to cover groceries, household needs, and day-to-day essentials in one visit. It’s a dependable choice for locals, travelers, families, and vegan shoppers in Santa Teresa who value convenience, variety, and fair pricing.
Fraud - Don't shop here!!! 1. The prices per kilogram for fruit and vegetables are generally more expensive here than in other supermarkets. A kilo of avocados costs around $10. The high prices are the supermarket's decision. Every customer can therefore decide for themselves whether they want to buy at such prices. So far, so good! 2. The fraud takes place at the checkout scales. A normal-sized avocado is supposed to weigh 850 grams. They even play games with onions and tomatoes! So I was supposed to pay more than $15 for an avocado, an onion, and a tomato. No way! I sent my entire purchase back! In every other supermarket in Santa Teresa, it costs less than half that. Even the local customer behind me was shocked about the prices.
Got a few moldy things here and things that taste past due. Stick to green world
