About
Part hotel, part restaurant, part coworking hub — Somos is where Santa Teresa's remote workers and travelers naturally gather over especially good coffee. The breakfasts are the draw: a monster avocado toast, açaí bowls, and cinnamon rolls dropped off fresh by a local bakery around 9am. Tuesday cantina night, near-daily events, surf rentals, and easy tour and lesson booking round it out, and the staff get singled out again and again.

If you're going to Santa Teresa you absolutely must stay at Somos, or at the very least, enjoy one (hell, many) of their dining experiences. From the breakfast menu to the specialty dinners (Tuesday cantina night 10/10), every dish is so unique and well prepared. My fiance and I are from Los Angeles and have picky palettes and high service standards; we tried over a dozen menu items over the course of our stay, all of which were incredible. We also booked our ATV tour and our surf lessons through Somos and they made it so easy, staying in touch with us over WhatsApp to confirm details and make accommodations according to our requests. The ambience is one of a kind and the staff are phenomenal - shout out to Cesar at the bar delivering the warmest family energy every nights, and Valeria who handled our check-in during a stormy night with pure 'Pura Vida' calm and smiles, as well as Jack and so many others for their hospitality. You can tell this brand takes pride in every detail of the experience and actually takes the time to find the best people to work here. We visited 2 other regions and multiple cities during our time in Costa Rica, and whenever we mentioned we were heading to Somos, there was brand recognition and positive feedback. That says everything! 100% will be returning, and promoting (helps they have excellent merch). Hope to see this hospitality brand expand.
SOMOS has a really cool, laid-back vibe and attracts a great mix of people. It feels like one of those places in Santa Teresa where people naturally congregate — whether it’s to enjoy especially good coffee, get some work done, or meet up with others. In many ways, it functions like a relaxed co-working space with a beach-town energy. I’ve had a few business meetings here, and it’s always been a great environment for that. There’s plenty of seating, a comfortable layout, and an energy that feels productive without being rushed or overly quiet. It’s easy to settle in for a longer stay. The menu offers a nice variety, including vegan options, which is always appreciated. The breakfast offerings in particular stood out and looked especially tasty, making it a solid morning or mid-day stop. Service was smooth, and the overall experience felt easy and welcoming. If you’re in Santa Teresa and looking for a place with great coffee, a relaxed work-friendly atmosphere, and good food, SOMOS is definitely worth checking out — especially if you enjoy spaces that blend community, creativity, and comfort.
Somos in Santa Teresa is an absolute must visit. From the moment we walked in the vibe was warm relaxed and intentional. Our server Sophia was fantastic and even tipped us off that the local bakery drops off fresh baked goods around 9 am which was a game changer. I had the chai tea latte with a fresh local cinnamon roll and an açaí bowl and everything was incredibly well made with the freshest ingredients. Simple clean flavors done really well. They even threw in a cool sticker for my water bottle which was a fun touch. My wife ordered the avocado toast and calling it a monster is an understatement. Huge flavorful and perfectly balanced. Great food great people great energy. This place feels like Santa Teresa in the best way. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Pura Vida!
