About
Come for wildlife you barely have to look for: white-faced capuchins raiding the grounds, howler monkeys as a 5am alarm, agoutis and birds everywhere, and local guides who make the water tours. The staff draw the biggest praise, with regulars telling stories of vegan meals prepared unasked and early breakfasts made for pre-dawn departures. Rooms are basic with mesh instead of glass, so expect damp when it rains, which it often does.

Location is outstanding with capuchin and howler monkeys on site and very present. It's a place you go to see wildlife out on the water with the amazing local guides and we saw so many different birds, geckos, crocs and monkeys in their natural habitat. The hotel is beautifully laid out, though rooms are quite basic. No glass in the windows, just insect mesh protection meaning it can feel quite damp particularly when it rains, which it does often. And it can be noisy with howler monkeys waking us up at 5am. Food was good but not high end. Staff amazing. Local "town" can be visited via water based transportation. Go for the overall experience.
The service is fine, as is the food, and the setting is spectacular. We stayed 2 nights, about 40 hours in total. The rooms are very basic and unglazed, with mesh screens, so the damp got into all our clothes. The wildlife is very noisy. There was torrential rain for most of our stay (which I suppose is fair enough in a rainforest) but the tin roof amplified it and the occasional falling branch sounds quite terrifying. It is one of 3 local hotels under common ownership
The staff here are incredible. they truly make you feel like royalty. Everyone is so kind and attentive! My husband is vegan, and they went out of their way to prepare a special dish for him every day. As soon as he walked in, they recognized him and brought out his meal without him even asking. On our last morning, we had an early departure around 5:30 a.m. and didn’t expect to have breakfast. But one of the staff noticed us waiting for our ride, went inside, and started preparing breakfast for us anyway. They even coordinated with the front desk and invited us to stop by before we left. We couldn’t stay, but it was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. a perfect example of how genuinely caring they are.
