Rafa is the whole experience here: a local guide travelers describe as passionate, patient, and genuinely kind, who welcomes you like family and caps groups at six so nothing feels rushed. His canoe trips, Jaguar-trail hikes, and turtle tours, where guests have watched turtles both laying eggs and returning to the sea, come with an intimate, lived-in knowledge of Tortuguero. He will find the animals, and he keeps his distance from the other boats.

HIGHLY highly recommend staying at Rafa’s airbnb & doing his tours!!! Not only he is knowledgeable & passionate, but he has also a pure and kind soul. He will try everything to make sure you see the animals, that you are (more than) satisfied and that you enjoy the tour. He only takes very small groups to make sure your experience is unique. Rafa is one of this special person who will welcome you as their family. Thank you for everything Rafa!!!!
I had an amazing trip with Rafa's Enchu Tours! Rafa is a great guide and hosted me on the: 1) Canoe Tour, 2) Jaguar Trail Hike, and 3) Turtle Tour (we saw 1 laying eggs and 1 returning to the ocean!). Rafa also brought me to a great spot for lunch, and found me a kayak to rent the next day. We spotted a huge diversity of birds, insects, reptiles, and monkeys. I'll be sure to book with Rafa again and to stay at his Air BnB next time!
We had a wonderful time with Rafa’s Enchu Tours. Rafa took us on a night tour that resulted in some great photos. Next day’s tour of the “canals” was another memorable experience. One final afternoon guided walk capped a great trip to Tortuguero. Another plus was that Rafa is a gracious and friendly host with an Intimate knowledge of the area that can only be gained by living in a place you love.
