Worth the five-minute walk off the main path — Taylor's Place trades canal views for a tropical setting diners call almost magical, with attentive service and food a cut above. Chef Taylor's fresh fish wins over even white-fish skeptics with subtle herbs, and the shrimp pasta comes loaded with large shrimp beside garlic mash. It reads as a finer-dining evening, and Taylor's known for ladling free soup to the village on weekends.

Excellent restaurant off the beaten track but 5 mins walk from the centre. It doesn’t have the views but the setting, ambience and food were excellent. Briefly met Taylor the Chef. Taylor is also altruistic, providing huge tureens of soup to the village at the weekend. Highly recommended.
Great atmosphere, good service. Shrimp pasta - sauce was on the watery side. Shrimp with potatoes - great sauce and mash potatoes.
Best restaurant in Tortuguero — very nice owners and well cooked food. Recommend the hummus and the fresh fish.
