About
Rosa, the owner, roasts the coffee herself — two separate reviewers make a point of it — and the family-run warmth is what people keep describing: travelers who planned one breakfast and came back every day of their trip. The tropical breakfast, the casado plate, the pancakes, and the fresh fruit with juice all get specific praise, and the kitchen adjusts easily for vegetarian or lactose-free requests. Tucked off a side street in Dominical and open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, it serves what reviewers call simple, no-frills, hearty food at a fair price.

If you are looking for true local vibes, family atmosphere and delicious, homemade food, Ensueño is the place for you! The owner and her family are very friendly and will take good care of you. Adjusting meals for vegetarian/lactose intolerant was also not a problem, which is a huge bonus for me. Highly recommend!
Good coffee. In-house roasted. American and Tico style food. Friendly staff. Scrambled eggs were made perfectly (not browned or overcooked). Bacon was very crispy and delicious! Stewart my waiter was professional and had a positive vibe. I’ll be back.
Highly recommend visiting this cafe for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert! I ate at Café Ensueño the whole week I stayed here since the food was so delicious and the owner was so kind. She took such good care of us and the service was amazing. Such a cute cafe, amazing food and a great atmosphere, and even better people! The pancakes and coffee were so yummy, fresh fruit and juice is a MUST!
