About
A vegan kitchen where the hummus and house-made cashew cheese draw repeat mentions, alongside a schnitzel tofu salad and a curry stew one diner counted among their best meals anywhere. Reviewers describe unusually careful allergy handling — one recounts a member of the owning family coming in specifically to make sure their meals were safe — and a warm, beautiful setting with attentive service. Fair warning from a recent visitor: sides like fries and pita are ordered à la carte, which can push the bill up. Closed Tuesdays.

I could write a book on how great our experience was at Lori the other evening. First off, the service was remarkable. And I do mean remarkable. We booked online and mentioned that we had some allergies. Not only was the initial staff prepared for us, but a wonderful young man, named Shahar (apologies if my spelling is off), who is part of the family who owns Lori, showed up to ensure our allergies were looked after. What a kind, well spoken and well mannered young man. He literally came from home to ensure our meals were safe and that our allergies were accommodated. We were blown away. Not only was the service top tier, but the food was incredible. And I mean incredible. We had several dishes, as we like to have a little bit of everything and there wasnt anything that we wouldn't order again. It was all delightful. The schnitzel tofu salad was life changing. The curry stew was breath taking. The empanadas were worth writing home about. The list goes on. All amazing. We are vegan, but even if you aren't you would LOVE, Lori. We are saddened to hear they are closing in the near future, but until then, everyone should support this remarkable business. This was hands down one of our highlights of Costa Rica. Wishing the owners well in their next chapter! You are wonderful human beings. 70000/10 stars
There are so many delicious vegan options on the menu. The food was fantastic, especially the hummus and homemade vegan cashew cheese. We liked it so much, that we will be coming back very soon! Edit: We came back a few days later!!
The food was very tasty and the burger was really good. However, fries are not included and have to be ordered separately. Paying 8,500 colones for just a burger, with only a small side salad, felt a bit overpriced to us. We also ordered hummus as a starter, which was delicious, but again, pita bread was not included and had to be ordered extra. Honestly, that felt a bit cheeky. I mean, how exactly are people supposed to eat hummus otherwise? The waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients and the food itself was very good. But having to pay extra for so many basic sides, despite the already high prices, made the overall value for money feel disappointing to us. That said, if you do not mind paying extra for sides and add-ons, the restaurant and the food are definitely worth visiting.
