The bakery CR - Dominical

A very nice place — clean, comfortable, and cozy. Moreover, all the food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff provides excellent service. I absolutely recommend this place to everyone who comes here. Breakfast is available, and there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from.

This is a lovely addition to the Dominical eateries. Located slightly S of town, on Highway 34, The Bakery is brand new and owned by the wonderful team at The Private Chef (in Uvita.) There is a wide variety of freshly baked bread, sandwiches, burritos, coffee drinks, and pastries. The interior and exterior of the place are gorgeous, with a playground for kids, an outside bar (not open quite yet) and a small stage for music.

This was a tough rating to give. Due to the amazing service we received from Axel. But the 3 stars is due to the poor quality of food and portion for the price. On our 2 1/2 month travel through Costa Rica. We stayed in Uvita for 2 weeks. We visited this location a total of 5 times during the week. We visited the location in Uvita one of the days, which was closer to where we were staying. But we left after 5 minutes. The Staff at that location all seem to have attitudes. Its super small and noisy with not much privacy seating wise. For working on laptop and being on calls. We went to the Dominical location the 5 times of the 2 week stay. To utilize the wifi and seating area upstairs. For working on laptop and making calls. Our first stop in, was on our drive from Quepos to Uvita. It was a Sunday and the vibes were great. They had a DJ playing good music. Lots of people and great energy. First day we got the yogurt in a jar, to go. Sourdough bread, omlete and mimosa. Please see the details below about each food item. Will also include pics of the same apple sandwich my partner made with their Sourdough bread. So u can see the portion difference. Also please note this is a shipping container business. They have signs advertising it as a workspace/meeting space. But its way too loud to hold meetings with a group. As the sound bounces and its extremely loud. There were times during the peak hours. Where my partner had to speak louder than normal in order for me to hear her and I was sitting across from her. The seating area is comfy and they have little botths you can sit in to work, with cushion pads. Along with sever tables. Staff at the Dominical location is very friendly. Everyday we were there. After we ordered they would bring our order to us. Even though we were given a beeper to come get it. Details below of the food and drinks. Along with pics and videos 🥪 MANCHEGO & APPLE / MANCHEGO Y MANZANA SANDWICH -This sandwich was by far the saddest sandwich we ever had. It came with the thinnest apple slices on their sourdough bread. A couple of pieces of spinach and little pieces of cheese. The sandwich was literally all bread. It was ao bad. We got sourdough to go. So my partner could replicate the same exact sandwich at home. Pics and videos attached. There is absolutely no effort put into making this sandwich and the portions are unreal. Its shocking that the owner or anyone that works there can make such a sandwich for that price and put no effort into it. 🥚 Veggie Omlete - The omelet was very similar to the sandwich. Very light omelet with the bare minimum of veggies. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning. We felt completely ripped off. Almost like u are eating air with sprinkled veggies. 🥖 SOURDOUGH BAGUETTE / BAGUETTE DE MASA MADRE -There sourdough bread is fresh made everyday. They will slice it for you, if you ask. Bread was great and we used it everyday to make our own sandwich for breakfast and lunch. 🍵 JAGUAR Smoothie Ginger, Mango & Passion Fruit Smoothie was amazing. Very fresh and full of flavor and nutrients. 🧋 Iced Mocha Latte There iced mocha latte does the job. Its very similar to drinking black coffee, flavor wise. I believe that would be due to using pure dark chocolate in the drink. Its not really a bad thing but more of a preference depending on the level of chocolate you like. Small Fresh Coconut 🥥 This is the probably the biggest rip off they have. They sell the worlds smallest Coconuts. They cut them open for u and put a straw in it. But you will see from the video. The color is way off and ours had black mold in it. Which came out as we poured it into the glass. The Beach across the stress has Coconuts for sale at the same price nut 5 times bigger than the bakery. It makes absolutely no sense to sell Coconuts so small. But again I believe the business model here. Is small portion big profit. Overall, the location is beautiful and will likely always remain busy. Due to its prime location on main touristy road. However the food quality and portion size does not match price
