My husband and I had an amazing experience here this week! All of the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We would like to especially call out those in reception and dining, the boat crews, and the excursion guides (night hike, Caño Island, and Corcovado National Park), as they truly made our experience fun and memorable. The rooms do not have A/C but have screens and fans to help make you more comfortable. The location is perfect, as it is located within walking distance to Drake Bay and Cocalito Beach. They offer private boat transportation from Sierpe (which is not the same as the public boat transfer dock in Sierpe!!! Also no water landing needed here as they boat you directly to the lodge’s dock) and coordinate transportation for you to the Drake Bay airstrip as well. Their communication is great before and during your stay. They coordinate activities directly through the lodge and prepare all meals for you here as well (which were all phenomenal!). We loved this place!!

We stayed in Drake Bay for 4 nights — 2 nights in Jinetes de Osa and then moved nextdoor to Aguila de Osa. What a treat. This hotel has a peaceful, zen, and luxurious but not snobby charm. It’s surrounded by lush greens throughout the property and along the perimeter of the hotel. The owner and staff greeted us warmly and was always present and engaged throughout our stay. They were attentive of all our activities during our stay and asked us for our meals around it ahead of time; the service felt very intimate and personal. The rooms were large and clean. Unfortunately their WiFi had issues during our 2 nights and bc it was NYE they weren’t able to get someone out in time to fix it. We had to come down to the lounge area to get wifi connection. It didn’t take away from our experience bc we just detached from our phones. And they have a bookcase with plenty of books and games so I just ended up glued to one of the books. They have their own dock which is not usual for hotels in this area. They are also their own dive operator. We went diving with Kike who’s an extremely experienced dive master. It was only my second time diving ever, and needless to say I was nervous to jump off the boat but he held my hand throughout the dive without babying me. Cano island exceeded our expectations— we saw white tip sharks, giant manta rays, turtles, lobster, eel, and more.

We were there years ago but the kayaking up the small river near the hotel was probably my favorite thing I've done in my life. Quietly paddling through the jungle on a cyan river with birds and monkeys in the trees above you, and the river with beautiful fish, basilisks, and other aquatic animals. Don't miss this adventure when you are there.
