Nature tours of Manuel Antonio with guides — Luis most often named — who take their time on the trail and turn a gift for photography into close-up shots you keep. Groups see sloths, all three monkey species, iguanas and anteaters, learning the ecosystem along the way. Fruit, drinks and hotel transport are included, and going private is worth the few extra dollars. Patient, generous guiding.

Great tour with Luis! He spotted amazing wildlife we would have missed otherwise, took his time walking the trail, provided us with spectacular close-up photos he took, and was patient with my very cranky child. Appreciated his true love for the wildlife and knowledge shared — we learned a lot! Quick note that no snacks or single use plastic is allowed into the park, which may be challenging for children (or grownups) who get hangry. Encourage them to eat well before the tour, but know that there is a well-stocked cafe right near the beach (hot simple meals, smoothies, ice cream, beverages, and a full souvenir shop with beach supplies). Pura vida!
We had a great trip with Yanan. We saw loads of animals including sloths, lizards, insects and birds. Yanan was very knowledgeable on both the nature and local history which made the tour very special.
We had a fantastic tour with Luis. He is an excellent guide and his gift for photography adds special value to the tour. We saw everything we wanted to see - sloths, all three monkeys, iguanas - and learned much about the vegetation and ecosystem. Worth a few extra bucks for private. Highly recommend this tour. Ask for Luis as your guide
