About
A family-run Costa Rican restaurant in Playa Hermosa, open since 2012 and run by the owner and his sons. Locals come for the buffet lunch — repeatedly called the best value around — plus casados, fresh juices (mix the starfruit and tamarind), and generous plates that arrive fast and hot. Diners describe genuine, feel-at-home hospitality and an open-air, more-local-than-touristy feel.

We stopped at Coco Viquez for lunch before we hit Playa Buena for the afternoon. We ordered a vegetarian buffet plate for lunch (extra beans and plantain), the Taco Tico, and some natural juices (Tamarindo and Guava). Everything was delicious! The service was friendly and efficient. Muchas gracias! Uodate: We actually came here back-to-back days for the buffet lunch. Easily the best value in the area and it is delicious. The ticos and ticas come here for a reason. 🇨🇷 🙌
We stopped here because it looked adorable from the road. It was perfect atmosphere with a lovely breeze and friendly service. The food was some of the best serve ever had. I had a cheeseburger and it was a double decker with bacon and cheese layered in. Husband had snapper. Both were perfect!
Food was excellent, prices were great! Loved the open air, casual atmosphere. Less touristy, felt more local. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We went back the next morning for their breakfast buffet. Very good! Nice selection of fruits and the eggs were very good.
