Don Mario's beachside copos — Costa Rican shaved ice — piled generously with powdered and condensed milk. Regulars come back for the balance he strikes with every ingredient (the tres leches version gets a special mention) and for Don Mario himself, who's as friendly as the treat is sweet. A simple, cooling stop right on the beach.
