About
A quiet, secluded resort tucked into the far end of Playa Hermosa, right on the beach but away from the crowds. Guests rave about the architecture: rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that feel like private treehouses set into lush, bird-and-monkey-filled grounds. The pool has a kid-friendly pebbled ramp, and the staff earn constant praise. Included breakfast and the coffee are highlights, while other meals run pricey.

Absolutely magical, peaceful oasis at Playa Hermosa. We stayed here with our one year old and parents. Staff were friendly, helpful, and great to our little guy. The location couldn't be better--tucked into a quiet end of Playa Hermosa, right on the beach but away from the crowds and nightclubs. Many mornings we had the end of the beach all to ourselves, and the gentle waves made for a perfect place for our baby to play. The resort was built thoughtfully into lush grounds which gives the rooms, with their floor-to-ceiling windows, the feeling of being private treehouses--whoever designed this place is a masterful architect! We watched birds bouncing around in the palms while sipping coffee in the morning. We were so impressed by how well the design of the place blended the buildings with the landscaping and natural surroundings and resulted in a tranquil atmosphere. The pool is great for little kids, including a pebbled ramped entry, and made for a nice respite from the heat (though the rooms had great A/C and were very comfortable). Everything from the rooms to the grounds had thoughtful touches that made our stay smooth and comfortable. The included breakfasts at the on site restaurant were excellent with great options for everyone. Other meals were pricey but quality. The coffee was outstanding. Bosque del Mar was the relaxing highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.
Beautiful, private hotel right on the beach. Everything was clean, secluded and safe. We loved our private balcony from the ocean view suite. The breakfast in the mornings was very good and the staff were all pleasant. Saw lots of monkeys right around the pool!
This hotel is right on the beach which is very lovely, but for nearly $500 a night I just expect better quality. The wallpaper in the bathroom is pealing and the shower head was coming off the wall. The beds were comfortable but laundered with heavily perfumed soap. The is no working elevator, some rooms are up a level, and there are some ground room floors. The included breakfast was pathetic, with limited menu and meager portions - this was honestly the worst part because it is not hard or expensive to offer a decent breakfast. We enjoyed our time here, mainly because of the lovely beach, but I wouldn't recommend it and won't return.
