About
A beachfront restaurant in Playa Hermosa where the waves break just feet from your table and the sunset does the heavy lifting. Regulars mention friendly staff who go out of their way — one server, Wilmer, hauled a table to the front so a couple could have the view — plus resident cats and bats overhead keeping the bugs down. The crispy red snapper and shrimp get named, and they'll happily cook the fish you caught.

We had great food and service at the restaurant. Drinks came quickly after ordering them. Since we were on vacation time and not in a hurry, the timeliness of the food delivery was perfect. A relaxing outdoor dining area with the waves breaking on the beach and watching the local cats meander around, made for a relaxing evening. The food and drinks were delicious! Since it was Thanksgiving Day for the US, they offered a turkey dish for people to keep up on their tradition. We opted for shrimp dinners, see pictures. Will have to dine here again in the future.
Unforgettable experience right on the beach. The sunset, lights, and ocean view felt like a scene from a movie. Wilmer truly made our night. He saw how much we wanted a beachfront table, and even though the one we saw was reserved, he went out of his way to bring a table all the way to the front just so we could enjoy that view. His kindness and respect gave us the best impression of Costa Rican people. The staff were professional, the food was delicious, and service was fast. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place.
I ate at Roberto’s to tonight. According to the receipt, Rodolfo served me. Had to ask for attention over and over. My tomato soup arrived almost barely warm, chips reduced to crumbs. The mahi-mahi showed up with it—he offered to keep it in the kitchen to stay warm. When I was ready for the mahi mahi, he was never around. Took forever, I waved down another waiter … and when it got to me, yep—cold again. I told him the service was terrible tonight. He said sorry, he’s too busy. That is a lame excuse to a customer. I asked for a manger. He said no manager at this time( it was 7 pm). The manager is his house now, he said. Not impressed. I do not recommend Roberto’s. Management needs to take a note !
