Sapphire Residences

We are in Playa del coco Costa Rica We went to see Sapphire Residences to just have a look but the sales pitch was really pressured and we're given 1 hrs to think it through and wound up making the stupid mistake of purchasing. It says in the contract you have 8 days from the date of signing to cancel so we went back the next day to cancel and we're told they keep 25% of our money. So had a meeting the 3rd day to try to recover our money and they said they couldn't so put us in the Arrivia membership. I just did a comparison with westjet directly and the arrivia membership. Westjet was 642.00 for econo and arrivia was 872.00. No big savings there. I am posting this to warn people do not get sucked into a timeshare in Playa del coco Costa Rica. When I get back to Canada I will be taking this to the Media.

Loved it! Beautiful terraced hillside complex with lush landscape and six pools. We were almost the only ones in the pools when we visited in May. Two level units with covered patio on 1st level and 2nd story balcony off each bedroom. Some have rooftop terrace, it was fantastic. Staff was friendly and accessible. Exchanged through Interval International & there was no pressure to attend a meeting regarding ownership but it was available if desired. The timeshare representative met us at check in, showed us to our unit, provided info about the area & answered any questions we had. Location is less than 5 minute walk to neighborhood coffee shops, pharmacy, ice cream & restaurants. Main town is 15 minute walk. We didn’t love the beach at this location but it was not a priority for us in picking this location. Liked Beach at plays Ocotal, didn’t get to playa Hermosa but both are about a 10 minute drive.

We loved our trip to Coco! We actually ended up purchasing a timeshare because we really liked the location and the vibe of the town. Some of the units are dated, but we didn't care...we didn't spend much time inside and the unit had everything we needed for the week. The grounds and pools were absolutely amazing. The beach was super close and there were tons of great restaurants within walking distance. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We will be returning!
