About
A simple, well-priced guest house in Puerto Jiménez that works nicely for solo travelers and anyone on a budget. Guests repeatedly praise the friendly, responsive host and note the handy location — a short walk from the bus terminal, shops, the farmers market, and banks, with the ocean about a kilometer further. Rooms come with or without AC; there is no hot water, though several guests say you will not miss it in the heat, and fans and wifi work well. Fair warning: it is a basic place, and one recent stay reported cleanliness issues. The entrance street is a little tricky to find — look for the marine supply store on the corner, then it is the third house on the right.

This is my second time staying over at this hidden gem. The place is very neat and super clean. The host is naturally hospitable, friendly and welcoming. The unit is within short walking distance from bus terminal, retail shops, restaurants the farmers market, souvenir and curio shops and banks. The ocean is a few steps further (+/-1km). It is a safe, peaceful place with a homely atmosphere. I will come back again and again
The owner seemed like a very kind and friendly person despite the language barrier, and at first the house looked fine. Unfortunately, after some time many issues started to appear. There was a terrible smell coming from the fridge and another unpleasant odor from the bathroom. I also saw cockroaches at night both in the bathroom and in the kitchen. There was also no hot water, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. The towels looked washed, but one of them still had a red stain on it, which was really unpleasant — replacing a towel isn’t a big cost, so that should definitely be improved. I also didn’t feel very safe in the surrounding area. On the positive side, the Wi-Fi worked well and the fans handled the heat nicely. Overall, the stay was disappointing, even though the host herself was lovely.
Basic place (like a small apartment), very well priced little family thing. The owner is very friendly, responsive and helpful. The entrance street to find this place is a little tricky ,just remember that on the left street corner is a marine supply store, from there enter the street and it's the third house on the right side. We stayed two nights.
