About
Family-run café in the forest about a ten-minute walk from the Botanika hotel, near the Puerto Jiménez airstrip. Reviewers keep coming back — one couple visited three times in a week — for the smoothies, breakfast tortillas with refried beans and pico de gallo, buñuelos, and the cakes: the chocolate cake gets called amazing outright, with the carrot and coconut close behind. Dinner earns praise too, especially the fajitas on fresh corn tortillas. Guests describe gentle, attentive service and reasonable prices, and several recommend booking tours through the family as well. Open daily 9 to 6, with vegetarian options, outdoor seating, and a dog-friendly patio.

Terrific little cafe with THE BEST service. My friend had the fish sandwich she said was terrific. I had the chicken sandwich and it was served with fresh produce but rather ordinary. I came back for dessert as it was my birthday weekend. The coconut cake was good but not what I was expecting, more like a banana bread or carrot cake instead of a yellow cake with coconut frosting that I was hoping for. The chocolate cake is AMAZING and highly recommended. Literally the icing on my birthday trip.
What a lovely little oasis in a quiet spot, a short walk( 10 mins) from the Botanika hotel. Nestling in the rainforest, we saw lots of nature en route, lizards, birds, frogs, spiders, secadas and more. A welcome destination, with reasonable prices, we visited three times during our weeks stay in the area. Fantastic smoothies, lovely breakfast options - soft corn tortillas with refried beans and pico gallo being a great example through to the Farmers tortilla. Fresh, aromatic, delicious. Cakes were great too, particularly the carrot and the coconut options. Our main server was a lovely, gentle guy who took great care of us. Highly recommend.
This was the best breakfast of our entire Costa Rica trip, by far!🌴🇨🇷 We ordered: ☕️ Mocca Helado 🥤Guanábana shake with milk 🍽️ Campesina and Buñuelos Everything tasted delicious. I we would have had another day in Puerto Jiménez, we would definitely come back here to try some more on the menu.
