Bar Poás

honestly amazing. such a hidden gem. as a tourist in san josé, i didn’t know much about the bars in here and how well they accepted tourist. i must say i was so pleasantly shocked. the people, either clients or workers, in this bar were just so nice, i had an awesome time. the owner was just so sweet and open, letting us choose music, but we also were showed a lot more music, making it so interesting and beautiful to connect with music. the bar feels familial and you are sure to have fun and feel the pura vida. we will DEFINITELYYYY come back when we return to san josé on our trip

Solo American Traveler. Was nervous to go to bigger places but this place was right across from my stay at Hotel Santo Tomas so chose a smaller dive bar vibe and more people should definitely go there. The owner and her son are bilingual, super friendly, play whatever music you want. Just super welcoming. I've gone twice during my stay so far and for a place to grab a drink or 3 I would recommend it

Discovered this bar across the street from the hotel we stayed in. Definitely in the hidden gem category. Atmosphere is great. Food is great. Service is excellent.
