About
Señora Mayela is the reason guests rebook — a warm, welcoming host who stays available at all hours and makes the place feel like a refuge. The rooms and bathroom are clean and comfortable, there's a tidy shared kitchen, and it's within walking distance of the Tracopa bus terminal and the National, Gold, and Jade museums. A dependable, homey base for exploring by bus.

Mayela is a sweet and welcoming lady. I wouldn't generally recommend booking a hotel in this area, because it seems unsafe. But it is within walking distance from the Tracopa bus terminal, and it is a fantastic guesthouse if you need a hotel in that area. The room and bathroom is very comfortable and clean. There is a nice and clean kitchen. I loved staying there :)
It's a treasure. Lovely house, cozy and clean. It's in the city center, near Tracopa Bus station, perfect for travelers who want to explore Costa Rica via bus. All mayor city museums (National, Gold, and Jade Museums) are in walkable distances. The owner, Senora Mayela, is a treasure herself, warm and welcoming. Thank you for a great experience!
Stayed here overnight on my last night in Costa Rica before coming home. It was OUTSTANDING! Mayela is such a kind soul and a relaxing presence. She was available at all hours to help with anything I needed (and I am a big goofball so I locked myself out in the courtyard no fewer than three times). Not to mention the hotel itself is beautiful; I simply loved the colonial decor! If I ever stay overnight again in San Jose, I would definitely come here. It’s a blessing to support Jewish owned businesses at home and abroad, especially those belonging to such fine folks. Mayela, if you see this Chag Sameach & G-d bless you and your family!
