El Social Morazán

This place was excellent and a great find in San José. The location is very convenient, especially if you are staying near the Delta Marriott downtown. The service was fast, attentive, and genuinely good from start to finish. The food menu felt familiar for Costa Rica but clearly refined and slightly elevated. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared, and thoughtfully executed. We tried three menu items and all were solid, but the pumpkin dish with fish and shrimp really stood out, it was especially good and memorable. The cocktail and drink list deserves a special callout. I ordered the Tamarindo cocktail and it was fantastic, balanced, refreshing, and absolutely something I could have enjoyed more than one of. Value for money was excellent. After spending time in more rural, tourist heavy areas of Costa Rica, this felt like a bargain given the quality, both food and drinks. We went around 6 pm and brought our 6 year old son, and the vibe was comfortable and appropriate at that hour. As it gets later, it seems like it would transition into a more adult focused atmosphere, which is good to know. Overall, this is a great spot with strong food, an awesome cocktail program, fast service, and a polished feel without being pretentious. Well done, and I would absolutely recommend it.

This bar was my best experience in Costa Rica. The drinks are brilliant, the food is divine and most importantly the people who work here are the best. They take the time to know who you are, when your birthday and anniversary are, they explain the food very well and make sure you have a complement shot. By far the best bar in downtown costa rica

Super friendly staff and nice food and atmosphere. I had one night in San Jose after a long flight and was staying next door, this was just what I needed, perfect!
