A downtown San Jose cafe-bakery a few steps from the Balmoral Hotel, open early and late. It's strongest at lunch and dinner: the platos ejecutivos and casados come with soup and a natural drink at good value, and the strawberry smoothie is a generous favorite. Reviewers are split on the pastries and on service depending on the day, so the plated meals are the safer bet.

Just look at the beautiful desserts! My strawberry smoothie was huge and delicious. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness of Gusta Pan. 🤗

The food are reasonable price and delicious. All the staff are friendly with tourists. The bakery items are very good. We stayed at Balmoral Hotel and it’s just a few steps away. They are open early and close late in the evening.
