La Casa del Cacao

We had an excellent experience at La Casa del Cacao. This was a fun, informative, and genuinely enjoyable stop. The food and drinks were high quality and thoughtfully prepared, with a clear focus on showcasing cacao in creative and delicious ways. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. Service was warm, engaging, and knowledgeable. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do and did a great job explaining the process, flavors, and background in a way that was easy to follow and interesting for all ages. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, making it a great place to slow down and enjoy the experience. Whether you are a chocolate lover or just curious, this is well worth the visit and something we would absolutely recommend.

Super fun chocolate experience and great restaurant. We had a blast shelling and grinding cocoa beans and making our own chocolate bars as well as learning about the whole artisan chocolate process. Then we moved downstairs for a tasty sandwich and awesome chocolate cake! Do not miss this event if you love chocolate.

Do you like chocolate? Are you in San Jose? Well no need to look further than Casa de Cacao. The atole hot chocolate was gourmet perfection—the right balance of dark chocolate, milk, piloncillo, vanilla, cinnamon, and a bit of anise. The Caribbean chicken savory crepe tickled the palette with flavorful chicken, light jerk seasoning, and creamy coconut milk. No wait during the weekday and the service was attentive however I noticed the tables could be better wiped down.
