About
A no-frills neighborhood café in San José's Sabana area that locals rely on for breakfast — a traditional Costa Rican plate, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee done right, from a smooth chai to a proper café con leche. Fresh, consistent and reasonably priced, with kind service (Jenny gets named). Simple, dependable, and very local.

Moro Café was the first breakfast spot we tried in Costa Rica, and it set the bar incredibly high. Our server, Jenny, took great care of us with warm hospitality and prompt service from start to finish. We ordered the traditional Costa Rican breakfast and were very satisfied—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere felt cozy and homey, making it the perfect place to start our morning. The café is also within walking distance in a beautiful area of San José, which made the experience even better. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend visiting Moro Café.
Vibes are immaculate, service incredible AND THE FOOD?? The best place in town if you want a good breakfast! Prices are really good too!
This cafe is such a gem! The food is consistently delicious, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. I tried many things on the menu, and it always delivered. I spent an extended period in San Jose, staying at the building just next door. So, I really came to this restaurant a lot and always a great experience.
