If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I attended several of Lura's classes in 2024 and 2026 when traveling and absolutely loved them! Lura is incredibly knowledgeable and is able to meet you where you're at in your yoga practice. I personally found the adjustments while in the asanas to be extremely helpful. As Lura is guiding, she allows for 1-on-1 time with all the students that you don't normally see in a public class. Not only that, she took some of her own time to suggest books and training courses to further my personal yoga studies! Whether you're a beginner or a teacher yourself (or somewhere in the middle), Lura will be able to guide you through a practice accommodating your skill level and likely teach you many things along the way! Lura is a phenomenal teacher and a phenomenal human. I'd highly recommend her classes.

After a year + of planning my yoga teacher training at Bienestar with the amazing guru, Lura, I finally got to go in April 2021, and it was a very enriching, in-depth, and all-encompassing experience of what yoga really is and how it came to be thousands of years ago. I loved that the program was small (five students) because each of us got so much personal attention! Lura is a highly-qualified, super knowledgeable, always kind, compassionate and loving yoga teacher. Her background in yoga, meditation, and yoga therapy makes her one of the most trained teachers in all of Costa Rica! It was a blessing to learn from her and I hope to make it back to Uvita one day for another one of her trainings! 💗

UPDATE MAR 2025: I completed my 200YTT with Lura Feb 2025. It was the most amazing and expansive month of my life. This is a beautiful program for anyone looking for an individualized training with a teacher with 20+ years of experience. This opened my eyes to the breadth and philosophy of yoga in its traditional sense, much different to what it has become in the western world. The accommodation and location was excellent. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. I loved the indoor/outdoor living and felt very grounded in nature. It’s close to restaurants, cafes, and beautiful beaches and the Uvita river. The food was delicious and nutritious, made with love. She keeps in mind what’s fresh and knows where to get the best of everything in town! The recipes were creative and vibrant. It was the little details that made my experience so great — from her amazing book collection to the time she spends dedicated to helping you 1:1. I would recommend this YTT to anyone looking for a unique program and is looking to support an amazing teacher with invaluable experience. MAR 2024: I was living in the Uvita/Domi area for a month and a half and my time with Lura was such a memorable experience during my time here. I feel as though I truly have deepened my practice and learned a tremendous amount from my 2x/week sessions with her. I understand now what it is like to have such a knowledgable and experienced yoga teacher that strives to meet your individual needs. I enjoyed listening to her stories about all her past lives from her younger years. Its really something special to experience a class like this!
