EL HORNITO - Empanadas Argentinas\Pizzas\Sandwiches

I really enjoyed visiting this empanada restaurant, right by the beach! They offer plenty of vegetarian options, I tried two empanadas, the cheese and onion, which was my favorite and highly recommended, and the acelga, which had a strong bitter flavor that I personally wouldn’t recommend. My boyfriend had the beef empanada and absolutely loved it. We ordered four empanadas in total, along with a passionfruit juice (which wasn’t very good), and finished with an alfajor de maicena that was amazing. The total came to $18 USD, which felt like a great value. It’s a cute, small spot with great prices, and overall a charming place worth visiting, especially for authentic empanadas and delicious desserts.

We got here just after opening and it was rammed! We found a space and ordered six different empanada and two different juices. First - they are HOT! The ovens are a thing of industrial beauty and watching the cook move shelves up and down is an artform all of its own. All six empanada were delicious - we disagreed on our favourite - mine was Camaron and the wife’s the Caprese. Service was superb - informal and chatty Great little lunch spot that’s a bit different

I hear the Empanada's are really good. My friend has been there twice and tryed 4 different varieties. I was going to try them but changed my mind at the last minute. I ordered the pepperoni pizza instead. I was not disappointed at all. The sauce was nice and spicy, mozzarella cheese and great crust. Nice size pizza. The service was great and the owner so sweet n friendly. Sometimes the comfort foods we crave when we are traveling are not quite the same as where we come from. This was great pizza and they have a nice selection of Kombucha.
