About
A minimarket that earns its keep by staying open late, to 11pm, when the other groceries have closed. Travelers who needed milk, eggs, cereal, or a drink found them here at fair prices without being overcharged. It leans heavily toward beer, wine, and liquor. Opinions on service run mixed, from friendly and cool to notably cold, so expectations vary.

This is for the Plaza Victoria location: Good selection of products and shop is always clean. Customer service is very lacking. I asked the staff(en español) about the Independence Day parade. The staff did not make eye contact nor show any pride about the town’s Independence Day activities. My response was a cold “No se”. On multiple occasions, the significant other of a staff member is present in the shop for hours at a time. If the staff acknowledges you as you walk in you will only be gifted with a “buena” instead of the proper salutation of Buenas Días/Tardes/Noches. After over a month of saying hello to staff and spending >50,000 colones I am still treated as a gringo stranger. A package delivery service wanted to leave my package under the awning so it would stay dry until I returned home. The staff notified the delivery driver that this was not possible although this is a common practice at many other businesses.
When all of the grocery stores were closed I found this open which is worth four stars on its own. It heavily leans towards beer wine and booze but we also were able to find milk eggs cereal and other staples without being completely gouged on the price. I'm giving it five stars because it had what I needed without ripping me off at 10:00 p.m.
Nice spot to get drinks and many items. They have a good variety. The cashier is polite and cool. Prices are reasonable. They stay open until 11.
