About
A small bird-watching hostel—six or so rooms—where the kitchen is outdoors so you cook while parrots and other birds move through the garden. Beds get made daily, they're comfy and spacious, each room has a porch, and a nightly security guard makes it feel safe. It's a 10-to-15-minute walk to the beach; expect no AC and cold showers, standard for the area.

Amaaazing hostel!! Really social but not noisy, close to the beach, ACTUALLY good frying pans and utensils and beautiful wildlife in the garden. The beds get made every day and the kitchen is outside so you can watch the pretty birds while cooking! I rarely write reviews but the staff were so incredibly kind. My bag got stolen at the beach and they helped me so much and made sure I was ok when I was panicking and were so considerate I highly recommend!!
Excellent! I highly recommend. Clean, comfy, safe and quiet area. Really comfy and spacious beds, with a sink and mirror in the room and a lovely porch with a sliding door. The grounds really are great for watching birds. Open concept, great chairs for relaxing in. Not much happening in Uvita/Ballena, but it's a good place to stay as a jumping off place for other activities.
A really nice location, about 10 minutes walk from the beach and 20 minutes to the supermarket. I found the pillows super fluffy and liked the porch attached to each room. Every night there is a security guard who stays until the sun comes up which made me feel super safe even though it doesn’t strike me as a dangerous place. All the staff is incredibly friendly as well. The only big downsides are no AC and cold showers which is pretty standard for CR.
