Koru Boutique Hostel

Positives - really cool dome, great pool, lovely chill out areas, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful garden, great outdoor showers, very safe and secure, the cutest kitten ever! Negatives - tricky check in (no information sent beforehand, tried being charged full price despite paying deposit on hostelworld), lots of ants in dome (but managed to move domes), not loads of space in dome to put belongings (shelves would be great!). Overall we had an amazing stay. It was a very unique hotel and had fantastic facilities. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely an amazing place. The love to details is amazing. I had a very rough night in another place. So I was in need of a new place. When I entered the Koru Hostel I immediately knew, changing locations was the right thing to do! The shower, kitchen and rooms (staying in the 4 bed female room) are amazing. Absolutely appreciate the details. Free coffee, salt and spices, big fridges! Two kitchens, really well equipped. Everything is clean. Wifi is good. So many nice chill areas! Even a yoga spot! And a plateau to watch the stars! Really relaxing and soooo sooo lovely. Also the people from the hostel I met were great! 5/5 thank you so much!!!!

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this hostel. When I arrived, the reception was closed and the main gate was locked. I hadn’t received any prior information about self check-in, which made the situation very stressful. They later sent me door codes, but none of them worked. The only way to open the door was by manipulating it in a specific way, which is definitely not something guests should have to figure out on their own. When I finally entered my dorm room, my assigned bed was dirty. At that point, I didn’t feel comfortable staying and decided to leave. Overall, the lack of communication, poor organization, and cleanliness issues made this a very negative experience.
