La Cola Gourmet Store in Uvita is a gem for expats looking for those hard-to-find favorites from home. They carry top brands we miss at fair prices—after all, imports aren’t free, and Juan Carlos works hard to bring in quality products you won’t easily find elsewhere. Juan Carlos, the owner, is there every day, always ready to assist in both Spanish and English. He’s personally tracked down some nearly impossible items for me—pinto beans, puff pastry, spices, real Fritos, and even hot honey! This is a fantastic, friendly store with an owner who genuinely cares. If you’re looking for great imported products and excellent service, La Cola Gourmet Store is the place to go!

Juan Carlos the owner of La Cola, has been a person I can go to to find hard to find specialty foods, cheeses, butter, some spices and other hard to find items, that I wanted for my home kitchen, and at a very competitive price, some lower than the larger food stores here in Uvita. His selection of wines from around the World you “can not get” at most stores here, and also some Spirits at very reasonable prices, are something to see. I’m very glad I stopped in one day out of curiosity and discovered one of the best little stores providing a variety of International goods, cheeses, specialty products and Gluten Free options. La Cola Gourmet is an amazing store that offers a wide variety of specialty foods (gluten free, imported, hard to find ingredients, etc) as well as a huge selection of wines and liquors. Juan Carlos is so helpful with suggestions and is always willing to bring in items when asked. I send friends and family there all of the time as well. Wonderful store and service!!
