Restaurante La Catarata acceso a la Catarata Uvita

Good food, great location! Nice atmosphere, right by the waterfall.

The ceviche was tough and inedible (I was worried we’d get sick from eating more than a couple bites. The nachos were fake cheese sauce like at a stadium or cheap theatre. We were excited to experience the waterfall but wanted to visit a well known restaurant called Esmeralda’s near the falls. When we came to this place and asked how we find Esmeralda’s. They said they had no idea about Esmeralda’s but that their place used to be under a different name. So regrettably we are there. THEN as we’re driving away down the hill we see a sign for Esmeralda’s!!! Facing only for people driving away from the falls. We followed the short drive and sure enough there was Esmeralda’s. you can pay there to use the falls (you get a wristband). Super disappointed we won’t get to try it and that the staff here couldn’t tell us what we were asking. Another larger table was seated after us but received their food long before us which we found annoying.

We went for some beers and wanted to watch a premier league football match, the staff were very lovely and put it on for us no problem. An extra special highlight was seeing howler monkeys while we were there!
