About
The passenger boat between Sierpe and Drake Bay, and reviewers make one thing clear: Captain Hans is the draw. He learns every passenger's name on the hour-long run, narrates in both English and Spanish, and pulls over for dolphins, crocodiles, and once even the famously hard-to-spot common potoo. Practical notes from riders: book ahead on WhatsApp because boats fill up, the Sierpe meeting point is Restaurant Las Vegas — which offers affordable guarded parking if you are leaving a car — big luggage is fine, and you can pay online or in cash to the captain. On the Drake side, they have even shuttled passengers up and down the hill to the boat.

Great service, the captain , hans , rememberd all the names of the people on the boat , spoke in english and spanish so everyone will understand and had a great attitude
I took a return boat from Drake Bay to Sierpe and had a great experience. I booked via WhatsApp with Henar, which was super easy and convenient. They even gave me a ride up and down the hill to the boat. Everything was very well organized, and the team was helpful getting everyone on board. Captain Hans was so friendly and funny—he somehow learned everyone’s names for the one-hour journey! Along the way, he stopped to show us dolphins, crocodiles, and even the incredibly hard-to-spot pájaro estaca (common potoo). The trip was smooth, informative, and genuinely enjoyable.
Premium Prices Should Guarantee Premium Service This review applies to both Drake Bay Boat Tours and Pacheco Tours. While the destinations are stunning, the logistical execution from both operators fell short of the "premium" price point they command. Drake Bay Boat: On our April 14 2026 trip to San Josecito, the boat actually ran out of fuel about a third of the way there. We had to turn back to meet another boat to transfer fuel. This is a basic maintenance check that should never be missed. Pacheco Tours: For our Sirena Ranger Station trip on April 16, the operators arrived 40 minutes late. The explanation was a mechanical issue that required a boat swap. While I understand that equipment fails, premium service should include proactive maintenance and built-in redundancy to prevent these delays. Travelers pay a high price for these experiences, and the reliability of the service should reflect that.
