About
A small guesthouse steps from the beach where the boats land, across from the Drake Bay sign, with a fully equipped kitchen, open-air dining space, and a hammock reviewers mention sipping coffee in while birds pass through. But nearly every review is really about Cathy, the host: she arranges Corcovado tours, whale-and-dolphin trips, massages, and a night walk with Tracie the Bug Lady that one guest ranked among the best tours of their trip — and when a Corcovado booking fell through last minute, she found the guest a spot with another group. Solo travelers say they felt genuinely safe and looked after, and families note calm creeks nearby where young kids can splash. Clean, comfortable, and an easy walk to town restaurants.

A great place to stay, very clean and in great location right in downtown Drake Bay. Cathy is an amazing and personable host who went above and beyond making sure I was comfortable and had a memorable trip as a solo traveler. She helped me organize everything and made it all so easy, she was even willing to accompany me on many of the tours. There was a last minute cancellation with my Corcovado tour and she worked very hard to make sure I was still able to get in a group with another guide. thank you so much for making my trip unforgettable Cathy!!!
I had an amazing experience staying at Casita Corcovado in Drake Bay. The property is tucked away in a lush, peaceful area that’s just a short walk to the beach, and it’s surrounded by incredible wildlife. The casita itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. But what really made the experience stand out was Cathy, the host. She was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. She gave us fantastic recommendations for local tours, restaurants, and hidden gems that I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. There are also plenty of great dining options nearby, which made it easy to enjoy local cuisine without needing to travel far. If you're visiting Drake Bay and looking for a peaceful, well-located place with a personal touch, Casita Corcovado is a perfect choice. I’d absolutely stay here again!
Staying at Casita Corcovado was one of the highlights of my five weeks in Costa Rica. Tucked just up from the beach where the boats come and go, and only minutes walk from the center of Drake, it’s perfectly located yet feels like its own little sanctuary. The casita has everything I needed—a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with soft linens, and an outdoor dining space and hammock where I sipped coffee while surrounded by colorful birds. What made my stay unforgettable was Cathy, the hostess. Traveling alone, I felt completely safe and cared for . She made sure I had everything I needed and helped me experience Drake in the best possible way—arranging a magical whale and dolphin tour, and a fascinating night walk with Tracie, the Bug Lady, which turned out to be one of the best tours in Costa Rica. And a fabulous outdoor massage. Cathy shared her local knowledge generously, pointing me toward the scenic Drake Trail, favorite spots for dining, delicious lattes and where to pick up supplies . And then there’s the wildlife. From the casita I saw white faced monkeys swinging through the trees, pairs of scarlet macaws flying overhead, and toucans calling in the mornings. It felt like living right in the heart of the rainforest, with all the comfort of home. Casita Corcovado is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience, especially with Cathy as your host.
