About
A family-run budget hotel in the middle of Agujitas, across from Hotel Jacamar, with simple, clean rooms that come with air conditioning — a welcome surprise at this price, guests note. Mayela and her family earn repeated thanks for boat pickups with bags carried, free luggage storage and parking during overnight Corcovado trips (space for about three cars), and breakfast ready as early as 5:20 on tour mornings. The surroundings are busy rather than scenic, but the whole town is walkable, with a dive shop, restaurant, and the family's own bakery — the cakes get a special mention — right upstairs or nearby. There's jungle view from the balcony, monkeys included if you're lucky.

Top notch spot for an overnight in Bahia Drake. Mayela’s friendliness and excellent service made our stay just right. She gave us a warm welcome and always a smile. We were able to store our luggage and leave our car parked outside the hotel while we went to Corcovado overnight for no extra cost. Note though there’s only parking for up to 3 cars right outside. The area around the hotel is quite crowded and can be busy, not really a place you might want to hang out but the town is tiny and easy to walk around. Breakfast the morning of our tour was ready right at 5:20 which left us plenty of time to walk down to the meeting point at the beach 10 minutes away. The walk is downhill and a bit steep. The room itself was spacious for 2 and fairly basic. But it had A/C which was really nice! Bathrooms are fairly old but everything works. The value for what we got made this an excellent choice! Spend what you save in lodging on drinks by the beach, which are not cheap but the view is oh so beautiful.
We arrived in Drake Bay by boat, stepping directly into the water, which — beyond the beautiful scenery — was an experience in itself. Our host picked us up by car and even waited while we checked in for our program the next day, which was very kind and helpful. The accommodation is a family-run place, and the family also lives on the property, giving it a warm, local feel. It’s located next to the forest and is quite simple, but it’s also very affordable. For the price, you get exactly what you would expect — no frills, but honest and functional. Breakfast was included and consisted of eggs, rice with beans, and fruit, which was fine and typical for the area. The hosts were kind and welcoming, making this a good budget-friendly option in Drake Bay.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying. The location was very convenient with a dive shop, bakery, and restaurant located upstairs. We would definitely stay again.
