Consuelo is a local guide from the Drake Bay area who runs morning birding walks and night tours, and reviewers keep coming back to two things: how much she finds, and how much fun she is. Night walks have turned up tapirs (including a mom with her baby), a caiman, tarantulas, walking sticks, sleeping birds, and seemingly every frog in the forest. Travelers who had done several guided tours around Costa Rica called hers their favorite, praising her stories and warmth as much as her spotting. I had the best time with Consuelo on a night tour, we saw many frogs and a tapir! She is a wonderful, funny and strong woman from the local town who can tell you everything about the place. She is an experienced guide - highly recommended. She also does birding and other tours so get in contact with her! She can speak English and German perfectly.
Consuelo is so knowledgeable! I did a night tour and she found a Tapir, Crocodile, every kind of frog, walking stick, lizards, tarantulas and more. She knows all the spots!
We had an amazing time with Consuelo. We saw a bunch of frogs, snakes and spiders during the walk, she can spot them all ! And on top of that she has a lot of great stories to tell. Highly recommend !
