About
Inn in the heart of Agujitas, an easy walk to restaurants, tour operators, markets, and the beach. The pool is the recurring favorite, a welcome cool-down after rainforest heat and a day of tours. A monkey bridge crosses the property, and guests watch monkeys cross several times a day, including mothers with babies on their backs. Deluxe rooms on the second floor come with king beds and kitchenettes, and the on-site restaurant, Ciao Drake, earns specific praise for pizza, pasta, ossobuco, and octopus; breakfast gets good marks too. Light sleepers take note: walls and windows are thin, and mornings bring neighborhood roosters and motorbikes on the hill behind. Tours booked through reception drew no complaints.

Beautiful property in the heart of Drake Bay. Easy walk to many restaurants, tour operators, markets and the beach! We had a deluxe room on the second floor with a view of the trees and many birds including the neighborhood chickens. We could hear them all every day - all day. 😂 In the AM, we could also hear the motorcycles that dominate the roads ripping up the hill behind the Inn. Not a deal-breaker but a consideration if all day quiet is desired. The pool was amazing and a nice feature in the heat of the rain forest. Breakfast with Robin was a highlight of each morning. He was kind and informative (with excellent English) and the food was good. We stayed six nights and did several tours/excursions to the sites around Drake Bay. In hindsight, we could have stayed 4 nights and ventured to a new destination before returning to SJ and eventually back home. Drake Bay in the shoulder season (start of the rainy season) was quiet. This meant smaller groups on our tours and we had a little beach to ourselves but also that many restaurants were closed. An easy trade off but worth noting for future travel. We highly recommend the property and a trip to Drake Bay. The people were lovely and the animals and vegetation spectacular.!
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, and we had a truly wonderful time. The reception was very attentive to our requests. We booked all our tours with the hotel, and I must say we couldn't have had better choise and service. Excellent breakfast, as was the Ciao Drake restaurant. We had dinner here four nights, excellent pizza and pasta, and exceptional ossobuco and octopus. Beautiful pool, which is a real treat after the tour.
The Deluxe room with a king bed and kitchenette was great. The pool was wonderful. The monkey bridge on the property was amazing. The monkeys go back and forth many times a day and there were 2 with baby's on their backs. Just a walk 'up' the hill to town and 3 min walk on pretty level ground to the market. Restaurant on site which was very good. Highly recommend this hotel.
