About
A family-run lodge in Los Planes, about a kilometer south of the school, with simple, clean rooms reached by a spiral staircase — the bathroom is downstairs. Longtime reviewers describe warm hospitality, toucan views from the balcony, home-cooked meals, and free rides into town in the back of a pickup, splashing through rivers along the way. Getting here is part of the adventure: the last stretch from La Palma is a dirt track with several river crossings, best driven in a 4x4 and in daylight. One guest found the open construction rustic, with scorpions about, limited English, and paid transfers beyond town — expect jungle conditions, not polish.

Very friendly welcome from this family run lodge Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms simple and clean. Bedrooms are up a spiral staircase which you have to descend for bathroom Word of warning. Travelling by car. The last 90 minutes from La Palma is on a dirt track and there are 5 rivers to cross. Best driven in a 4 X 4 and in daylight.
We had a horrible night in an rather open hut with scorpions in our "room". Communication was also rather difficult because no one speaks english. The food was not bad but really small portions. All together would have been ok if not for the expensiv price. Also it is not close to the beach or anything and for each transport (10min) they charge you 20 Dollars.
FABULOUS family owned establishment in Drake Bay. Free ride into town (on the back of a pickup through the jungle and rivers!) Views of tucans from the balcony of your room. Delicious food and friendly environment. It's off the beaten path - but WORTH IT as staying here is an experience all its own.
