About
Simple, clean rooms in Los Planes about two minutes' walk from a swimmable beach, run by hosts Rafa and Esther, who reviewers describe as endlessly helpful — arranging boat transport from Sierpe, hauling bags, and doing laundry for a fair price. Esther's cooking is a recurring theme: a different breakfast every morning, included with the stay. Guests report watching a sloth, an anteater, toucans, and hummingbirds from the garden-facing patio, and there's an outdoor kitchen for self-catering plus a simple soda on site. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and daily cleaning. Reviewers call it good value; if you're driving, a 4x4 is necessary.

If you’re looking for a piece of paradise that’s off the beaten track but a 2 minute walk from a beautiful swimming beach, this is it. The room is very clean (and cleaned daily), the fan works great, the bed is super comfy and sheets and towels are changed frequently. There were even fresh flowers in our room and welcome coconut drinks when we arrived. The patio, which looks out onto the beautiful garden, is very tranquil and we’ve seen a sloth, an ant eater and tons of birds, including toucans and hummingbirds right from the deck. The hosts, Rafa and Esther, are super helpful and assisted with ferry transportation from Sierpe, transporting our bags from the boat to the accommodation and did our laundry for a reasonable fee. Ester is a fantastic cook and every morning we have had a different, delicious breakfast (included with stay). There is an onsite soda (simple restaurant) and everything we’ve tried has been very tasty. The ceviche was fresh and delicious, and we tried every casado (typical meal of rice, beans, salad and your choice of protein) as well as the tacos and hamburgers - all were well presented and yummy. This small, family run ecolodge is about an hour walk from Drake Bay along a beautiful, well marked trail. You can arrange for tours (dolphin, Cano Island snorkelling, Corcovado) to pick you up at one of the beaches close by so you don’t have to worry about not being in town. We liked our jungle experience so much we originally booked 5 nights but stayed 11! We can’t wait to come back.
Spacious room, comfortable mattress, simple furnished. You can cook for yourself at the outdoor kitchen. Would stay there again!
Good value for money and very nice location! If driving there, A 4×4 is necessary.
