A small family-run lodge above Drake Bay where the hosts — Claudio, Shirley, and team — draw as much praise as the view. Rooms are clean, stylish, and screened rather than sealed, so guests fall asleep to the sea and the jungle at once. Balconies look out over the bay, and daily boat tours depart just meters away, which makes logistics easy. The attached Kalaluna bistro is a highlight in nearly every review: Costa Rican-Italian cooking, fresh local seafood pasta, beautifully presented — one guest called it the best restaurant in the region and recommends booking a table. Families with small children report being well looked after, and several guests extended their stays.

Very lovely family-run stay with Claudio and Shirley. We had a lodge with a beautiful balcony view over the bay which was very clean, stylish and comfortable. They made extra out-of-their-way offers of support for our logistics beyond our stay as well. I can also HIGHLY recommend their restaurant (worth booking!) with an amazing selection of beautifully presented and utterly delicious costa rican/Italian food.
Amazing place in Drake Bay! From day 1 Claudio and Priscilla turned out to be great hosts, very kind and friendly. They really care and this shows in evrery detail. The view is incredible, the location is great since daily tours by boat depart only a few meters from our location. The food is top-notch and we would dine at Kalaluna bistrot every evening. Best restaurant in the whole region, dare I say. We ended up extending our stay, since we loved the chilled vibe of the place. Lovely little resort in the stunning Drake Bay. The rooms have nets on the windows so when you sleep you can hear both the sea and the jungle - magical! The hosts are absolutely lovely and go over and above to make sure you feel at home. The hotel is actually attached to a restaurant where we had dinner - had an amazing pasta with fresh local seafood. Honestly a really lovely experience.
