A budget-friendly stay in Agujitas whose garden is its own wildlife show — guests report monkeys, macaws, bats, and bullfrogs right outside the rooms. Rooms are simple but clean and spacious, several with air conditioning, mosquito nets, and ensuite bathrooms, and staff freshen the beds daily. There is a shared outdoor kitchen, handy since guests found nearby restaurants pricey, though one suggests cooking before dark because the lighting is dim; each room gets outdoor seating and a clothesline. The owners earn consistent credit for warmth — free pickups from the beach and harbor, tours arranged, a relaxed attitude throughout. One repeated heads-up: reaching the rooms means a fair number of uneven steps, so pack light. The office runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

I love this place because of all the nature and wildlife in the surrounding garden. There were monkeys, macaws, birds, bullfrogs, bats. There are cafes and restaurants nearby but we found the prices steep so mainly self catered. The room and ensuite were clean and spacious. There was outdoor seating and a clothes line for each room. The shared kitchen was outdoors and quite poorly lit. I’d suggest using it before it gets dark. Staff were nice and the owner picked us up from the beach and dropped us there for free. Wonderful service.
We had a great time here! The staff was so friendly, they made our beds new every day, we had an air conditioner, mosquito nets and a well equipped kitchen. They organised the tours for us and were very chilled with everything. We were also picked up at the harbour. I can recommend the hostel!
Basic but spacious accommodation with a comfortable bed. The staff was super helpful and friendly. There were quite a few uneven steps to take, which is fine if you don't have a lot of luggage to carry.
